basiscraft: Basis Scone

• Cranberry Scones

These can be frozen, uncooked, then cooked directly from the freezer for 20-30 minutes. Don't apply the milk wash or cinnamon sugar until ready to cook.

• 3 c flour
• 1/2 c sugar
• 1 tbs baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 3/4 c butter (cold)
• 1 c fruit
• 1/2 nuts
• 2 tsp zest
• 1 c buttermilk
• 1 tbs milk or evaporated milk (for wash)
• 1 tbs sugar (for topping)
• 1/4 tsp cinnamon (for topping)

mix dry / cut in butter / add wet

don't overwork

3/4 inch thick, cut

brush with milk, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar

400 degrees

lightly greased baking sheet

15 minutes
